Webhook

The doorbell between tools: “this just happened”. It is what makes acting the minute a payment lands possible.

A webhook is an automatic notification one tool sends another when something happens: “payment received”, “form filled in”, “meeting booked”. Where an API gets consulted, a webhook rings the bell, within the second.

It is the mechanism behind “the minute the payment lands”: the payment triggers the invoice, the salesperson's notification, the dashboard update. Without webhooks, someone checks the bank account the next day, and everything else waits.
