Dashboard

Your numbers, current, on one screen: cash in, pending, sales per person. The end of the spreadsheet rebuilt by hand on Sunday night.

A dashboard shows the state of the business without being asked: this month's cash, pending files, sales per person, late follow-ups. Not a report someone produces, a screen that stays right.

The condition that changes everything: it must fill itself, from the tools where the work happens. A hand-fed dashboard is a Sunday-night spreadsheet in a nicer frame: numbers a week late, and an hour of copying someone pays for. The real test: unplug the person who “does the reporting”: if the numbers stop, it was never a dashboard.
