ERP
The big “all-in-one” software promising to run sales, production and accounting. Powerful in industry, often too heavy for a services SME.
An ERP (“Enterprise Resource Planning”) wants to be the company's single piece of software: sales, purchasing, production and accounting in one place. In industry, where everything follows one physical flow, that is often justified.
For a 5-30 person services SME, an ERP is rarely the right answer: months of rollout, heavy licences, and the team ends up using a tenth of it. The real need is almost always the opposite: keep simple tools, and build what connects them.

The system between your tools
Do not buy a ninth tool
You pay for eight tools and still re-enter everything. The problem is not a missing tool: your tools do not talk to each other.
